The start of any cycle or event will reveal the conditions under which one's development must occur, it gives a clear indication of the handicap or baggage the person may be carrying. In the initial stages of a cycle or event, it is also possible to note something of the true potential of the person. The entire cycle is a question of speed and utilization of energy.

Differentiation

You might think of this sign in relation to the birth of a child.

 1 point: This is the point of beginning in which the potential as well as the baggage the person is carrying are revealed. The accumulation from the past is brought forward and is most manifest in the first sign.

Taurus's function is to provide a vessel for the energies of Aries are focused so they can be made manifest. It becomes the medium whereby the Aries energy can manifest on the physical plane. It brings abstract energies into the realm of the real. Aries and Taurus represent the living body animated by the fire of Aries. It is a body as yet unaware of its relationship to others. You might think of this sign as where the child begins to become aware of his own body or physical ego, I exist.

 2 point: can be easy, A place of stalemate where one feels that he might be in a rut., the beginning of the entrance into the emotional quarter.

Gemini represents the development of Mind. It moves rapidly from place to place curious and covering everything it encounters. But it does so very superficially, not yet aware of the deeper aspects of reality It is the first sign to concern itself with relationships but does so out of curiosity, mental relationship. The beginning of organization. The first 3 signs represent a differentiation out of an embedded matrix toward the expression of individuality. This would correspond to the child becoming aware of his mental identity, I exist.

Individuation

Cancer completes the development of the individual as an individual, with the unfolding of the emotional faculties. It does so through a contact with ones roots, the emotional foundations of ones being. It feel itself as a part of something and this is expressed through ones relationship to home and family, community and past. It represents the need for emotional security. and promotes patterns which are essential for the social good. A turning point where one breaks out of his rut and make a decision fraught with consequences. Here is where the child becomes aware of his emotions, I feel.

 3 point: the point in the circle where the movement is ripe for something of ones inner truth to emerge. It is also a place where there is an exertion of the will to express that inner truth. It is also the point which brings something on the order of a Divine Grace into one's life. It requires an act of steadying or centering on that inner point. a point of achievement and promotion.

"Passage over the 3rd Point is perhaps the least spectacular of all the angles, but silently important and has a delicate quality about it. The first manifestation of the (Soul) psychic being should come forth and take the reins of life to assure a smooth and easy course during further progression (through the 'asteroid belt'). If the work is not accomplished as should be during passage over the 3 point, the subsequent progress becomes obstructed and more difficult That is, if instead of the soul being victorious the ego comes forth and moulds the life around its illusory substance, the difficulties that will be met during the ensuing three years can be predicted. There is the opportunity at this time to live in the soul, or at least to recognize the attempt at projection for what it is, in its true light. Or else there can be the further feeding of the ego with the imposition of its hungers and demands and the succumbing to the clouds it casts over all one's perceptions and actions. The work of this part of the wheel is very delicate and subtle, it is, as it were, a mere breath passing through the existence which will not impose itself and which can easily become deviated. Within Leo, the individual entity is complete. Here is found developed ego and self-confidence. Strong need for self-expression, admiration, and uncompromising personal integrity. In Aries, ones potential is trying to actualize, in Leo it becomes actualized. In Leo one becomes aware of others yet largely in a competitive way, but badly needing their acknowledgment. In the sign Leo, the child becomes fully formed with body, mind and emotions. Here is the completed self-centered ego with all its parts.

 4 point: the area where a major shift occurs. It is characterized by unexpected happenings injected into the process which alter the process significantly. They are introduced from an external quarter. The 4.5 is connected to the one or the immanent divine. it is directly related to the question of purpose and thus is an area most susceptible to undermining of that purpose. shedding baggage, a feeling of being penned in.

Virgo

The completed individual in the sense of trying to integrate both the physical and the social universes. Here we find efficiency where the emphasis on the total individual is gone. It has a real sense of self-evaluation and the quality of its efforts. Here the child becomes aware of others and their needs. The Virgo becomes the blank page upon which the archetypal reality imprints itself.

 5 point: Jupiter rules the 5 point and it is here where the individual find the overwhelming temptation to find release from the pressures of the previous year by opting for the easy way out. Here is where the crusts are formed. It is often at this point where a bolt out of the blue is introduced which propels one forward regardless of encumbrances. Into the sign Scorpio where one is confined in the cave of darkness.

Integration

In Libra, the emphasis shifts from I to Other. The individual learns to relate to and integrate itself into the reality of the social order. It does so through one on one relationships. I needs to juxtapose itself to another in order to gain understanding and realization. In the sign Libra, the child learns about himself through his relationships with others.

The first encounter with ego death. In Libra two individuals remain separate entities. in Scorpio, the two merge into one on an emotional or sexual level and this is the first kind of ego death. Scorpio sees living as a series of deaths and resurrections. Here is where the private ego dies and the spiritual self is born. Sex is a form of merging which appeals to the Scorpio.

 6 point: this is the point of release, one begins to emerge from the Scorpio cave, the burdens are lifted and a great release is felt in the open spaces offered by Sagittarius. Here one is meant to exceed his/her limits and extend the boundaries, a point of achievement and promotion.

The point of the integration of the individual into society. Here he relates not so much to the individual, but to the fabric of the social order itself. It is the most advanced of the fire signs and the expression of its will must transcend purely personal self-expression. It is mostly concerned with the pursuit of Wisdom which it prefers to mere knowledge. With the birth of the spiritual self comes wisdom which is represented by Sagittarius.

 7 point: On the date of the perihelion when the Earth is positioned on the 15th degree of Capricorn, the new year begins and brings with it realignment with the cosmic harmonies. Thus it is considered the "birthday" of the Earth. Similarly, when an individual crosses this axis in his personal cycle, a corresponding alignment occurs which dispels old falsehoods either physical or mental and sets in motion a force for new beginnings. It creates an ordering of the life, a return to the source of replenishing, a time which brings forward the inner being and its truthful base. The power of this axis operates with a compelling magnetism which obliges all elements involved to serve ITS purpose. This means that a force of order enters ones life and creates a cosmos out of a chaos. Peripheral elements are no longer left free to create havoc or to endanger or impede ones overall development, rather, when this axis comes into being it imposes new conditions which assist in the fulfillment of ones destiny.

Unity

A sign associated with authority and those who claim knowledge which is universally applicable. It is concerned with the expression of a truth which grants absolute reality. Not only does it seek authority, but it becomes the embodiment of that authority. Here the person becomes aware of the duties of a spiritual being, to act authoritatively as an instrument of the Divine Will.

6 months after reaching the 7 point, the individual moves into the sign Aquarius. Movement into this sign is usually met by some event which upsets the status quo and often throws your life into chaos. It is not necessarily a negative influence but one which makes you reconsider what constitutes stability in your life. This is because Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus which is known for its sudden and unexpected influence. So the keynote of this passage is to "expect the unexpected". I have also noticed that this unexpected influence occurs almost immediately upon entering the sign. In my case it was going to India, in another case, and on that exact date, one of my clients received a job offer which threw his career plans into complete chaos. In any event, it is an influence which breaks up the status quo and prepares you for the deeper experiences of Pisces. The best example is to look at the Earth's passage into Aquarius to see the corresponding effect. In 1926, after 2,160 years in the Age of Pisces, the Earth's precessional cycle moved into the sign Aquarius. The thirty year period that bracketed the actual 'change of ages' marked one of the greatest upheavals the world has ever known including two World Wars and a Great Depression

 8 point: a sort of limbo, a suspension before the 9 and true new beginning, a place where there are no demands or expectations. Something of the residue of the previous cycle is dissolved at the 8 point. a dissipation of energy where the movement is drawn to a close.

With Pisces, the cycle is complete. The archetypal individual has reached the final stage of evolution. It is the most difficult where the individual must transcend the self. Here is the surrender of the soul to God, an end and a new beginning. Here is compassion, and unconditional love. The end of one cycle and a prelude to rebirth at a higher level. Here is the higher aspect of love where the person realizes the same self exists in all beings.
